UCC Crisis Services
The UCC offers crisis services Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM. If you are a U of U student, staff or faculty member, and need to talk with someone immediately, a UCC staff member is available to assist. Call us at 801-581-6826. Faculty and staff may also contact the University EAP at 801-587-9319. For more urgent situations and after hours, please go to Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI), located at 501 Chipeta Way or to the Emergency Department at the University Hospital located at 50 Medical Dr N.
For after hours crisis support please call 988, a new, easy-to-remember dialing code that directs callers in need to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline network and Utah’s integrated crisis response system. Callers from Utah will be connected to the Utah Crisis Line, staffed by certified crisis workers at HMHI. 988 is confidential, no-cost, and available 24/7/365, connecting those experiencing mental health, substance use, or suicidal crises with trained crisis counselors. The Receiving Center at Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI) helps adults ages 18 and older get help during a mental health crisis 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Visitors are supported by a skilled team of mental health care professionals who help patients receive care and helping to create a connection to community resources. Additional crisis services, including SafeUT, Mental Health First Responders, MCOT (Mobile Crisis Outreach Team), and the Warm Line can be found here:
