Body Image Issues

Body Image Issues
Explore the complex relationship between body image, self-esteem, and well-being. Students will learn how external messages and personal experiences can influence the way we view and feel about our bodies. We introduce concepts of body acceptance, self-compassion, and media literacy while challenging unrealistic appearance standards. Students will gain practical tools for developing a healthier relationship with their bodies, reducing self-criticism, and building self-worth that extends beyond physical appearance.
Communication Skills

Communication Skills
Effective communication is an essential skill for success in college, relationships, and future careers. We help students develop the tools needed to express themselves clearly, listen actively, and navigate challenging conversations. They will learn how to speak up for their needs, set healthy boundaries, and manage conflict in respectful and effective ways. Whether interacting with friends, family members, classmates, or coworkers, students will be encouraged to think about how they communicate and how changes in communication can strengthen relationships.
Grief and Loss

Grief and Loss
College students often benefit from support navigating the emotional impact of losing a loved one, changes in relationships, tragic events on campus, or facing other significant life transitions. We discuss common grief reactions, the many ways grief can show up in our lives, and how loss can affect our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Grief is a unique experience, and there is no "right" way to grieve. Students will explore healthy coping strategies, ways to honor their experiences, and opportunities to connect with others who may be navigating similar challenges.
Learning Strategies

Learning Strategies
College is full of competing demands and deadlines that often leave students feeling stretched too thin. There are practical strategies to help juggle everything including managing time effectively, prioritizing tasks, and navigating academic overwhelm. Participants will explore techniques for breaking large projects into manageable steps and identifying habits that can improve productivity and focus. Whether students are struggling to keep up or looking to hone their skills, these tools and strategies support success inside and outside the classroom.
Self-Compassion Training

Self-Compassion Training
Developing self-compassion can help create a healthier and more supportive foundation against times of stress, setbacks, and self-doubt. Participants will learn the core components of self-compassion, including mindfulness, self-kindness, and recognizing our shared human experience. Through this training students will learn how to give themselves grace when they make mistakes or things don't turn out as expected. They will gain tools to reduce self-criticism, increase resilience, and cultivate greater emotional well-being.
Stress Management

Stress Management
College is stressful but understanding the impact of stress on academic performance, mental health, and overall well-being can help with managing it. Students will learn practical, evidence-based strategies for managing stress, including time management, mindfulness techniques, relaxation skills, and healthy coping habits. Through discussion and application students will develop tools they can use to build resilience, reduce overwhelm, and better navigate the challenges they face.
Suicide Prevention (QPR)

Suicide Prevention (QPR)
QPR training is an educational suicide prevention program designed to teach everyday people how to talk about suicide and support someone who may be struggling. The three primary components are: Question, Persuade, and Refer which could help save a life.QPR acts as "CPR for the mind," giving anyone the basic skills to intervene during a mental health emergency, no clinical background required.
