Lego Brix Speed Building Competition
Are you ready to take your Lego-building skills to the next level? Join us for an exciting Lego Speed Build Competition, where speed and accuracy are key! The UCC and College of Engineering are hosting a Lego Brix Speed Building competition, featuring 12 teams of 3 students.
Constructing with Legos activates both sides of the brain: the logical side for planning and problem-solving, and the creative side for design and imagination. This balance can improve cognitive function and mental agility. Working with Legos can enhance brain power in adults by improving focus, problem-solving skills, and spatial reasoning. In addition, engaging in creative Lego building can help reduce stress and anxiety.
Building a Lego set with others fosters social interaction and teamwork, which are crucial for emotional well-being. It's a fantastic way to relax and focus your mind. It's like a puzzle party where everyone wins!
So, get ready to unleash your inner architect and social skills! Grab your two best friends and enter for a chance to compete in our first ever Lego Brix Speed Building competition and win some cool prizes!

What is a speed building competition?
A Lego Speed Building Competition is where teams compete against each other to build a Lego set as fast as possible. For this competition, each team will build the same set simultaneously to see which team finishes first. The competition will be judged based on speed, accuracy, and team participation.
Here is a video that shows what a Lego speed building competition can look like. These individuals competed on their own rather than as part of a team. Our Lego Brix Speed Building Competition will be in groups of three; you will have to all work together to win!
The teams of students who will be competing will be announced here!
Check back on February 14, 2025 for an update. Each team member will also receive an email confirming that their team will be in the competition, with additional details.
